Discover the countryside of the Piedmont region of northern Italy like a local during the harvest season. Let's focus on the Langhe, an area famous for its wine, cheeses, and truffles, ! Hike and wine taste in the Barolo hills, experience local cheese and hazelnuts at a family farm, stroll the elegant streets of Turin, learn to cook authentic Piemontese cuisine, and enjoy a truffle hunt and candlelight dinner in the woods.

This small group tour will include a maximum of 12 travelers for the most intimate experience.

Day 1: Welcome to Langhe!

Benvenuto! Enjoy a pick-up transfer with our driver at the Milan Malpensa Airport and transfer to La Morra where you will check into your charming hotel. After time to relax and get settled, join us for a Welcome Dinner in a local restaurant nearby the hotel for a local tasting menu, water, coffee and paired wines! (D)

Day 2: Trekking Tour + Barolo Winery & Cooking Class

After breakfast, meet your local trekking guide for a morning guided excursion immersed in the beautiful nature of the Barolo hills where colors, smells, and landscapes feel magical. After your light hike, embark on a delightful journey to a renowned winery in the heart of La Morra, where you will enjoy a tasting session complemented by a light lunch featuring exquisite salami and cheeses. As you explore this historic wine cellar, you’ll uncover fascinating anecdotes about how local wines were once considered premium products, exported to destinations around the globe. Surrounded by lush vineyards that produce wines with a unique and complex sensory profile, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for Barolo and its rich heritage. Experience the essence of this enchanting region through this authentic and unforgettable adventure.

After some time in the afternoon to relax, head to a local cooking class for a dinner and paired wines, discovering the roots of local food and wine culture, picking up some of the secrets behind the flavors and ingredients from an expert cook, creating typical dishes of the Langhe, Monferrato and Roero – Piedmont. Return to the hotel in the evening – you will sleep well tonight! (B, L, D)

Day 3: Cheese Experience and Hazelnut Discovery

After breakfast, head to the Alta Langa area to visit a select, small cheese producer with tastings of products and light lunch. The renovated farmhouse has a boundless panorama and the peace and quiet of the Alta Langa are admirable. Discover the secrets of authentic, local cheese in a natural environment learning traditional methods of cheese-making. After lunch, we will stop in Bossolasco, the characteristic roses village before visiting a small hazelnut producer in the Alta Langa area with tastings.

Learn the history and secrets of the unmistakable flavor of the Nocciola Piemonte IGP, the Piedmont Hazelnut IGP, the best in the world! This guided tour of a small farm in Alta Langa, from the hazelnut grove to the production of choice sweets, will be cherished as one of the “sweetest” souvenirs of your trip! Return to the hotel for an evening at leisure. (B, L)

Day 4: Barbaresco Winery

After breakfast, embark on a full day panoramic tour through the Barolo wine region,  stopping in the most picturesque villages, such as Barolo, Serralunga D’Alba, Monforte D’Alba, along the way! For lunch, we will dine in a typical, local eatery in Alba delighting in a 3-course tasting menu, water, coffee and glass of wine! After lunch, enjoy free time in town before continuing on to visit a select Barberesco producer. Learn the techniques that transform the grapes, grown on the celebrated land of the Barbaresco vineyards, into prestigious wines. A sensory experience featuring a tour of the wine cellar followed by a guided tasting. Return to the hotel for an evening at leisure. (B, L)

Day 5: Authentic Turin

After breakfast, head to Turin for a walking tour with a local, expert guide. During the tour, see the Piazza Castello, the political and administrative heart of the city. View the Cathedral of Turin, the only sacred building from the Renaissance period in Turin. Experience the elegant shopping district of Via Roma and Piazza San Carlo with its elegant historic cafes. Pass by the Egyptian Museum and the Savoy Gallery before discovering one of the largest squares in Europe and a meeting place for people of all ages: Piazza Vittorio. No tour of Turin is complete without a visit to a cozy chocolate boutique for a small tasting. Enjoy free time in town before returning to the hotel for an evening at leisure. (B)

Day 6: Truffle Hunting with Candlelight Dinner in the Woods

After breakfast, enjoy a day at leisure to relax. In the early evening, we will head out for a truffle hunting adventure in the woods with a truffle hunter and his trusty dog. Explore the woods to discover the precious underground mushroom, and after the search, enjoy a unique and unforgettable dinner, where our personal chef will prepare gourmet dishes based on truffles, in a fairytale setting, illuminated only by the soft light of candles.

This exclusive event, which takes place in an enchanted wood of the Langhe, offers a four-course menu, paired with truffles. Experience the thrill of seeing the tajarin prepared on the spot, in a clearing among the trees, according to grandma’s simple and delicious recipe, all accompanied by the fine wines of the area. Surrounded by the silence of nature, the scent of truffles and the authentic flavors of Langhe cuisine, you will realize an unforgettable experience to savor the food and wine excellence of the region in an enchanting atmosphere. Day 7: Arrivederci!

Today, you say farewell to la bella Italia. Our tour concludes with a transfer from the hotel to the Milan Malpensa Airport. Arrivederci! See you soon! (B)

About: Beautifully restored Corte Gondina Boutique Hotel is situated in the medieval town of La Morra in the Langhe hills overlooking the Po Valley between Bra and Alba. It offers a brand-new spa and free WiFi throughout. This pretty little town offers stunning views and Corte Gondina is the ideal place for exploring both the town and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Once a family residence, this is now an elegant hotel with a large outdoor pool, well-tended gardens and a lovely sun terrace. The wellness center includes a sauna, Turkish bath and hot tub for 2. The relaxation area offers fruit, tea and mineral water. Access to the wellness center comes at an extra cost and must be booked in advance, unless booking a room with spa access. Quiet and private, Corte Gondina has a reading room and a café inside and offers free on site parking. The residence is also home to a 19th-century cellar which has recently been made into a characteristic lounge bar. Centrally located, Corte Gondina is just a short stroll from La Morra’s excellent restaurants and wine shops. There are also more than 60 different wine cellars to visit in the surrounding area.
