Episode 04: Designing Your Simple and Peaceful Italian Life: Renovating Italy

Show Notes

Green rolling hills, fresh, fragrant mountain air, abundant sparkling waterfalls and clear streams, fields of colorful wildflowers… Welcome to Piedmont within the Val Pellice area at the base of the Alps in Northern Italy. The region is named for the Pellice River that runs through it. Located in this nature-lover’s paradise just east of the French border is Borgata Malpertus (a centuries old tiny, working hamlet) and the Loft Apartment. Featured on House Hunters International, it was renovated and is hosted by famed Renovating Italy renovators and bloggers, Lisa and Salvatore (Sam) Chiodo.

Drawn by a desire for a simpler life and a love of restoration, Lisa and Sam have created a movement of restoring Italian hamlets and homes. For over eight years they’ve hosted guests from around the world, and inspired thousands to share their own stories, support one another, and follow their dreams of renovating their own slice of paradise. Along with the opportunity to stay in the Loft Apartment, they offer a Facebook renovation support group, online Life Mapping Workshops, and an online membership-based club. The club offers deeper advice and “hands on” help, with the goal of saving others the years of trial and error that often goes with renovation.
