DAY 1: FLIGHT TO ROME, ITALY
Board your overnight flight to Rome, Italy’s Fiumicino airport
DAY 2: WELCOME TO ROME!
Welcome to Rome - one of the world’s most historic cities. Depart Rome’s Fiumicino airport and transfer to your hotel. Later, enjoy a welcome tour with a local guide to see the historic center's highlights by night and enjoy an inaugural gelato!
DAY 3: VATICAN AND IMPERIAL ROME
In the morning, you will visit the Vatican State, the richest community in the world, with a local guide. Here, you will enter the Sistine Chapel and admire Michelangelo’s famous painted ceiling, including The Creation. Next door in St. Peter’s Basilica, see one of Michelangelo’s early works, the Pieta, and the dome completed after his death. Next, visit the Colosseum, the largest amphitheater ever built and considered one of the greatest works of engineering and architecture. Finally, look out over the site of the Roman Forum, for centuries the center of Roman public life. The afternoon is at leisure for you to rest or enjoy the city at your pace. This evening, experience a cooking class in Rome and have a feast with friends!
DAY 4: FLORENCE
After breakfast, make your way to Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. Join a local expert for a tour of the Academy Gallery to see Michelangelo's statue of David. Continue to Giotto's bell tower next to the cathedral and see Ghiberti’s Gates of Paradise; before visiting the Piazza della Signoria, an open-air gallery and, to this day, the political heart of Florence. The afternoon is at leisure for you to explore this stunning city. Navigate the medieval streets to the Ponte Vecchio, visit the Boboli Gardens, or shop for Florentine treasures such as gold or leather. The world is your oyster!
DAY 5: SAN GIMIGNANO
Check out of your hotel after breakfast and head to San Gimignano. Stroll through the town and enjoy the scenery! San Gimignano is known for its towers and Vernaccia wine (a white grape wine). Don’t forget to have an ice cream at the world famous Gelateria Dondoli located in the main square and known for its unique flavors, made from fresh local herbs and fruits. Continue on to Sorrento to check into your seaside hotel. Explore the shops, dine, and enjoy the nightlife in Sorrento this evening!
DAY 6: AMALFI COAST
After a leisurely breakfast, head out for a full day excursion along the Amalfi Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With a local guide, enjoy the Amalfi Coast by Fiat 500! Have cameras ready for a spectacular view of Positano where there will be free time to shop and explore this beautiful cliffside town. Continue further along the with stops at Amalfi and Ravello, and experience why this is one of the most renowned sky roads in the world. In the evening, return to Positano for an exquisite dinner with wine and a magnificent view of the Mediterranean. Later, arrive back in Sorrento for dinner in town.
DAY 7: ISLE OF CAPRI
Today, explore the Isle of Capri. Experience the breathtaking cliffs and famous turquoise waters during a relaxing boat cruise around the island. Don't forget to pack a picnic lunch and wine to toast as you cruise through the Faraglioni Rocks. Visit Capritown and its shops before heading to Anacapri, where you will take a chair lift to the top of the island for exquisite views and fresh air above the clouds. Here, enjoy a lemon granita, an island specialty, before heading back down to the port for your return boat to Sorrento. Today is a day you will never forget! A note that this day trip is weather dependent.
DAY 8: DEPARTURE
You say farewell to La Bella Italia (until next time!). Morning transfer available to Naples Airport.
